In last weekend, my wife and I went to Kyoto city. It was reported that The autumnal tints are very fine.
The key reason is that it was quite hot in this summer in Japan. And after autumn season started it was oppositely cold. The contrast of temperature might grow very fine color of autumn leaves.

So now Kyoto is aflame with very fine autumn tints. This photo was taken at Kurama temple, which is located at north side of Kyoto city center. If you have chance to go to Kyoto in autumn season, Kurama temple is one of the best recommendations to enjoy typical Japan’s autumn color.
