Umekoji SL Museum closed in Aug 30th, 2015. But it will be renewed everything as Kyoto Railway Museum and open again, in Apr 29, 2016, as “Kyoto Railway Museum“. The date is in Japan’s Spring Hiliday Week, so-called Golden Week. So I highly guess many of train fans in Japan or even in foreign countries will come to Kyoto to celebrate the opening. One of the most interesting point of this museum is that we can see the dynamic storage of a lot of steam locomotives, equipped on the traditional 20-track roundhouse built in 1914. It was built surrounding a turntable.

I’m looiking forward to meet again the beautiful black bodies of locomotives and modern trains in the renewed Museum.
